Champions 4 Change Wellbeing CIC
Champions 4 Change Wellbeing CIC is a community interest company that helps young people and adults improve their fitness, health, and wellbeing through physical activity, mentoring, and social intervention.
The organisation uses boxing empowerment to distract young people living in disadvantaged communities from engaging in anti-social behaviour and gang-related activities. In addition, they deliver community-based Boxercise programmes to help young people and adults diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes improve their blood-glucose control through structured physical activity.
Their After-School Boxing sessions provide a safe environment for children aged 8 to 16 to develop healthy lifestyles, discipline, confidence, self-esteem, and lasting relationships while learning the art of boxing. Through SEND Intervention for Schools, the organisation works with primary and secondary schools to integrate boxing empowerment as part of SEND intervention programmes. Boxing coaches support students by helping them define goals at the start of each term time boxing empowerment programme. Their trained staff work with challenging young people and actively provide pathways for employment and further training in collaboration with partners in sports and technology, with the aim of motivating young people to rebuild their self-esteem and start a positive cycle of achievement.
The Summer Boxing Academy encourages young people to be happy, healthy, and safe, and to achieve their full potential by providing effective support during the summer months.
