about the north east and cumbria hub
The Angelou Centre and Anti Racist Cumbria work in partnership to deliver The Phoenix Way for North East England and Cumbria.
The Angelou Centre is a safe and confidential place run by and for women from Black and racially minoritised communities in the North East of England. They offer holistic support including refuge housing, counseling, therapy, skills courses, group trips, residentials and confidence building programmes.
Anti-racist Cumbria is a registered charity, created in response to the Black Lives Matter movement. What began as a voluntary organisation, is now a growing organisation supported by leading national charities such as Esmée Fairbairn and Paul Hamlyn. They’re committing to learning, excellence, fairness, belonging and action.
