Beyond The Black Square

The Phoenix Way awarded £1.2 million to 10 organisations led by Black and racially minoritised women.

This event spotlighted their powerful work and opened a wider conversation about the responsibility of funders, social investors, and government bodies to resource this work long-term.

On the 8th of February 2025, the Manju Shahul-Hameed Foundation for Mental Health organised a night filled with music, dance, and creativity, celebrating diversity and positivity at Whitgift School with support from The Phoenix Way.

Bright Futures For All offer a range of free and subsidised education and well-being services. Our passion is supporting neurodiverse learners with life skills and their education journey.

Urban Equestrian

The Urban Equestrian Academy aims to open doors that have not been visibly present before in the Equestrian World. The UK’s equestrian industry is often seen as something of a privilege for those who can afford to own horses, work with them or cover the cost engaging with them as a recreational activity.

Alchemy Arts

Alchemy Arts is a media & arts social enterprise using innovation and imagination as instruments for social change. They support underrepresented people, including those with special educational needs, mental health issues, dementia and addiction.

The Phoenix Way funding is available to non-profit groups, organisations, or charities that:

Are led by representatives of Black and racially minoritised communities.

Operate with annual budgets of up to £150,000.

Work within these communities, particularly with individuals under 18 who are at high risk of violence.

Are located in and serve communities in England and/or Wales.

The Phoenix Way seeks to ensure that no community is left behind
