Conscious Youth CIC
Conscious Youth was established in 2016 and has since empowered over 900 young people across Kirklees. They challenge inequality by creating opportunities for youth to drive change and positively impact their communities through a range of initiatives and events, including Conscious Kidz, Conscious Girls, Empower Yourself, Unified Youth Fest, Voices2Action, and Stepping Up and Stepping Out.
The organisation is led by Serena Johnson and Sophie Simpson, both of whom have built strong reputations in delivering youth and community projects. They are supported by an advisory board of experts in social enterprise management and youth and community development.
Their vision is to build the self-esteem and self-worth of young adults by broadening their horizons and equipping them with the tools to empower themselves. They aim to enrich lives through mentorship, sports, arts education, cultural exploration, health and wellbeing, and public service.
Their values reflect their belief in the importance of youth engagement and the power of the young adult’s voice. Therefore, they strive to create a community where all young adults are respected and encouraged to be active citizens.
